So when choosing your domain name, don't get stuck in the keyword line of thinking. Think in terms of branding. For Example names such as; L.L.Bean, Spiegel, Victoria's Secret, Amazon.com or eBay are examples of branding. Consider using your business name in part or whole for your domain name. The goal is to have your branding contain a strong association with the products or services you are promoting.

For example: VolumeApparel.com has a strong association with the volume selling of apparel items.

Many Search Engines look at domain names when ranking pages, however the direct benefit of using keywords in your domain name is not very large.

There is an indirect benefit of using a keyword-rich domain name: Search Engines like Google will factor link popularity in their ranking algorithms look at the anchor text of incoming links. The text used in a link pointing to your site should contian your keyword. If your main focus is selling Wholesale Shirts, you will want people to linking to your site to use something like "Wholesale Shirts" as the link text.
